Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: The previous day, the President of Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)], Arayik Harutyunyan, called a consultation and said that they are ready to dialogue with Baku, on one condition: if Russia assumes the role of a mediator. That is, they are rejecting the US mediation because they are pushing Artsakh solely for integration, whereas with the Russians there is still a chance to avoid it.

The RF [(Russian Federation)] part is missing from the official message [in that regard]. It is said: "In that context, I would like to emphasize that the Republic of Artsakh remains faithful to its constructive stance, and is ready to discuss through civilized dialogue and resolve all issues by peaceful means."

Arayik Harutyunyan emphasized [that] the security and humanitarian situation, which is worsening day by day in the face of growing Azerbaijani threats, poses serious challenges for the existence of the people of Artsakh.

Meanwhile, in the past they refused to negotiate, as "Baku is discussing [only] one topic with us: the topic of integration," Arayik Harutyunyan had said at the meeting with the MPs in the [Artsakh] parliament.

Considering Arayik Harutyunyan's letter written to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, it is not ruled out that the negotiations with Baku will be carried out through the mediation of the RF.
