Today at 08:00 Tashkent time, 10,784 polling stations opened in Uzbekistan, where citizens of the country will be able to vote in early presidential elections, Sputnik Uzbekistan reports.

There are four candidates running for the presidency: Ulugbek Inoyatov (People's Democratic Party), current head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev (Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People - the Liberal Democratic Party), Robakhon Makhmudova (Social Democratic Party Adolat), Abdushukur Khamzaev (Ecological Party).
The voting will end at 20:00.

Earlier the country adopted amendments to the constitution, extending the term of office of the president from five to seven years. In addition, according to these amendments, the current president of the country, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will be able to run for a third term.
