YEREVAN. – French President Nikolas Sarkozy in the framework of his two-day state visit to Armenia was in the Armenian Genocide museum on Thursday. Sarkozy shared his impressions on the museum, director of the museum Hayk Demoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The French President’s visit lasted only several minutes but the director managed to present the high-leveled guest with the museum exhibition. France will not forget, Sarkozy wrote in the memorial book. Afterwards, the members walked in the Memory Ally, where Sarkozy planted a fir-tree.
French President accompanied by his Armenian counterpart on Thursday visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex of the Armenian Genocide and put a wreath to the memory of the victims.
France was the first state in the world to recognize the Armenian Genocide in 2001 by law.
