YEREVAN. - In his interview to Nouvelles d’Armenie Charles Aznavour highlighted the two sorest realities of Armenia - emigration and the mafia, first President of Armenia, leader of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan said to ANC rally on Thursday.
“My respect for him grew tenfold after this interview. Aznavour cruelly unveiled Armenian authorities, being their representative in Switzerland. Referring to current population of Armenia, he stressed that the numbers are exaggerated. Officials say 2 million 600 thousand but that’s not true. In a short notice it will reach 1 million 800 thousand.
When asked what the main reasons for emigration are, Aznavour stressed that the authorities do nothing to help the people.
"Just on the contrary, I know so many horrible stories about the mafia. Villagers cannot provide for themselves. The mafia must be shot. We cannot go on like this,” he added.
