Kosovo purchased a batch of Turkish-made Bayraktar UAVs, Prime Mimister Albin Kurti said on Sunday, Reuters reports.
"The latest security spending is making the country safer," PM Kurti said in a Facebook post showing him in front of a drone together with Minister of Defence.
However, he did not mention the number or cost of drones, the first in Kosovo, and did not say what they would be used for.
In recent months, Kosovo has seen the worst of ethnic violence in the north, home to some 50,000 ethnic Serbs backed by Belgrade.
Troubles started in May as ethnic Albanian mayors assumed office following local elections, boycotted by Serbs demanding greater autonomy.
