A group of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) citizens living in Armenia and dozens of others marched from the UN office to the Russian embassy in Yerevan.

Subsequently, the protesters submitted their demand—to reopen the Lachin corridor—to the embassy.

In addition, they declared that not only the displaced persons, but also the people of Artsakh cannot see their future in dictatorial and racist Azerbaijan where Armenians are the target of hatred.

Mariam Avagyan, the coordinator of the congress of refugees from the Azerbaijan SSR, addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin, and said: “We believed in you, the lifeline of Artsakh should be [re]opened.”

Earlier in the day, these protesters submitted their demands to the representatives of the UN office in Armenia.

A nationwide movement has started at Renaissance Square in Artsakh capital Stepanakert these days, and tents have been set up at the square. Azerbaijan has closed the only road connecting Artsakh and Armenia, the Lachin corridor, for half a year already, due to which serious humanitarian problems have arisen in Artsakh.

Artsakh Minister of State Gurgen Nersisyan had informed on Facebook that the nationwide movement which started in Artsakh will also be held in Armenia, as of today.
