Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreyev was summoned to the country's Foreign Ministry in connection with Vladimir Putin's statements, RIA Novosti reports, citing Polish Undersecretary of State Pawel Jablonski.

“On Saturday at 10.00 am, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation was urgently summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In connection with the provocative statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as threats against Poland and other unfriendly actions of the Russian Federation against Poland and against our allies,” Jablonski said.

Earlier, during a consultation with the permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Putin reminded that Poland was thrown into the German military machine by the Western Allies in 1939 and actually lost its independence and statehood. He also reminded that Poland received a lot of western lands thanks to Joseph Stalin, and if Warsaw forgot about it, Russia will remind it.
