Artsakh Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan has appealed to the heads of international structures regarding to the blockade of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) by Azerbaijan.

"Urgent international intervention is imperative to stop the humanitarian disaster," he wrote on his Twitter account.

Azerbaijan has closed the Lachin corridor connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia and the world, depriving more than 120,000 residents of food supplies and necessities for more than six months now.

Earlier today, members of an initiative called Batsum (“Opening” from Armenian) held a protest in front of the UN office in Yerevan and handed a letter addressed to the UN Resident Coordinator Niels Scott. In the letter, they asked to urgently accept all the collected humanitarian aid and transport it from Armenia through the Lachin Corridor to Artsakh.
