YEREVAN. – Oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) stopped the protest actions in Liberty Square started on September 30.

Armenia’s first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan read a document on Saturday rally, adopted by the ANC central office, which is considered to be the resolution of the round-day rallies.

Ter-Petrosyan took the decision, despite many demonstrators were against the stopping of the rally.

“Our motto will be Armenia’s current President Serzh Sargsyan’s immediate resign,” he stated and added that people should follow the ANC decision and be ready to every moment resume the round-day rallies.

The next rally is scheduled for October 28.
