The rescue workers removed, on Monday at 10:28 a.m., the Mercedes C 220 passenger car of Armen,38, and Mekhak,47, Sorsumatyan brothers, who were declared missing as a result of the landslide in Armenia’s Tavush Region. Bodies of the brothers were discovered in the vehicle.  

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, on October 2, a landslide occurred at Tavush Region’s Vanadzor-Bagratashen section—nearby Ayrum railway station’s bridge and close to Lchkadzor village—of M6 Interstate Highway. The 130-meter-long and 60-meter-deep terrain covered the road, rendering it completely impassable, and average height of terrain covering the road was 10-15 meters. Around 35 vehicles had remained under terrain.

These 5 people were declared missing: Armen Sorsumatyan (Yerevan resident, born in 1973), Mekhak Sorsumatyan (Yerevan resident, born in 1964), Norik Mirzoyan (Lchkadzor village resident, born in 1939), Arthur Hakobyan (Georgian citizen, born in 1992), and Gurgen Hakobyan (Georgian citizen, born in 1949).
