YEREVAN. –Karen Aghamalyan replaced Rafael Mehrabyan as Armenian chief boxing coach. The Armenian Boxing Federation took the decision. The dismissal of Mehrabyan is based on the unsatisfactory performance of the Armenian boxers in the World Boxing Championship 2011 in Baku. Armenian national boxing team had to win three Olympic tickets, while only Andranik Hakobyan managed to win one Olympic ticket in 75 kg category and reached to quarter finals.
