After defeating Armenia in the final match in Euro 2012 qualifiers and going to playoffs, Irish national football team’s head coach Giovanni Trapattoni stated that Armenian national squad head coach Vardan Minasyan’s team played better in the first period of the game.    

“Armenia played very well in the first period, and it was difficult for us to control the game. Their ball possession was more and they were playing better than the Irish team,” Trapattoni said, Sky Sports quoted. 

In its final Group B match in Euro 2012 qualifiers, Armenia’s national team on Tuesday played an away game in Dublin against Ireland. Armenia was defeated with a score of 2-1 and did not qualify for Euro 2012.
