The international community is perhaps keeping open the possibility of changing today's negotiation agenda. Armenia’s former foreign minister Vartan Oskanian wrote about this on Facebook.

"The [urgent] meeting of the UN Security Council, which had caused optimism and hopes in our society, ended in disappointment. No resolution or statement was adopted, and it is questionable whether there will ever be a resolution under international law that will obligate Azerbaijan to [re]open the Lachin corridor," Oskanian wrote.

"In any case, I want to take a grain of optimism from all this, the possibility of its becoming a reality depends only on the position and practices of Armenia’s authorities or their resignation," the ex-FM added.

"In their speech [at the aforesaid meeting], none of the five permanent members of the Security Council made special emphasis on the fact that Armenia prematurely recognized Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] as a part of Azerbaijan. The representative of the European Union, one of the main mediators in the current negotiations, made reference to the Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Oblast [(Region)], which, I believe, is not a coincidence.
