YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will not resign as there are no grounds for it, ruling Republican Party MP Rafik Petrosyan told the journalists on Wednesday.
“The opposition claims authorities are making falsifications to secure its defeat later saying the elections were rigged. The President will never resign. It is excluded as there are no legal, political, economic, or health grounds set by the Constitution. Authorities will get ready for the elections with the opposition,” the MP stated adding that authorities will win as the coalition is more powerful than Armenian National Congress or any other party.
Even if all Armenia’s political parties are united, they will not be as powerful as Republican Party of Armenia or Armenian Prosperous Party, he said.
“It is a myth that authorities are powerful. Authorities have nothing but violence and weapons,” stated the other participant of the conference, opposition ANC member Felix Khachatryan.
According to him, the authorities are getting ready for the regular fraud. The proof is election of the head of Central Elective Committee. “Five days prior to his election, the newspapers reported Tigran Mukuchyan would be elected a chairman,” he said.
