YEREVAN. – Newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Armenia, Mohamed Alaaeldin Saad Elleissy, on Wednesday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

President Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador for assuming diplomatic mission in Armenia, and expressed a hope that the Ambassador would contribute, as much as possible, to further development and strengthening of Armenian-Egyptian relations, Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

They both underscored that Armenian-Egyptian ties, and friendship and mutual sympathy between the two peoples come from centuries and continue to this day. In parallel with high level political relations, the interlocutors also highlighted the need to develop and deepen economic and cultural ties.        

The President expressed a hope that the establishment of political stability in Egypt would also contribute to economic development and the activeness in partnership between the two countries in this domain. Armenia’s President and Egypt’s Ambassador also placed a great importance to the Egyptian-Armenian community’s role in strengthening Armenian-Egyptian ties.       

Noting that his appointment coincided with the time when Armenia is celebrating its 20th anniversary of independence, Ambassador Elleissy congratulated Armenia and President Serzh Sargsyan and wished further success.
