Our position in Baku will be the same as in Yerevan. The most important thing for us is to get out of this impasse, which has been going on for a long time, in order to improve the humanitarian situation and the living conditions of the Armenian population in Karabakh. Hadja Lahbib, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium, stated this in a joint press briefing with Armenian foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Tuesday in Yerevan.

She called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to return to the negotiating table, be it in Washington or elsewhere.

"We welcomed the bold step of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, who publicly recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. We call on the authorities of Azerbaijan to do the same at the highest level," added Lahbib.

She noted that there is no lack of negotiations at the highest level, but there is a lack of will to implement the agreements reached on the ground.

"At the meeting with our Armenian colleague, we noted the importance of the presence of experts and commissions, and I will talk about it in Baku as well. This will enable to put an end to the hostility and create opportunities to create conditions for real reconciliation. We are intensifying our participation in all these processes, including through the Belgian embassy, which will soon be opened in Yerevan," the Belgian FM emphasized.
