Trucks with "humanitarian cargo" sent by the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society and intended for Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) are on the Akna (Aghdam)-Stepanakert road.

Jeyhun Mirzoyev, General Secretary of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, informed that the Russian peacekeepers have been presented a quality certificate of flour products to be sent from Baku to Stepanakert, Trend reported.

"We are currently in standby mode, there are no changes so far," he added.

Two Azerbaijani trucks have been at the entrance of the Akna-Stepanakert motorway since Tuesday evening. Russian peacekeepers have installed barbed wire and planted stakes to prevent unauthorized entry. A group of Azerbaijanis have spent the night in tents near the Russian checkpoint.

Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan had announced that the issue of bread in Artsakh would be resolved soon. However, after the Azerbaijani media reported about the shipment of Azerbaijani "cargo" to Artsakh capital Stepanakert, the Artsakh authorities announced that there was no agreement with Azerbaijan regarding the cargo. The representatives of the Artsakh political forces and the public have announced that no cargo from Baku will be allowed to the territory of Artsakh.

Azerbaijan has been keeping Artsakh under a blockade since December last year. Baku's goal is to force Stepanakert to agree to the opening of the road via Akna to Artsakh.
