Iran's locally produced Karrar drone equipped with radar has on several occasions forced US warplanes and other foreign fighters to stay out of Iranian airspace by flying at very high altitudes over intruders, Brigadier General Alireza Elhami, Deputy Commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force, told Tasnim.

In particular, the Iranian drone several times forced foreign manned and unmanned aircraft to change their course over the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman at high altitudes, Elhami said.

The Karrar drone has achieved a notable milestone as the first Iranian military drone to reach an altitude record of 47,000 feet. It has also given radar or radio warnings to foreign aircraft approaching Iran's coastal areas or its designated flight information region (FIR).
