The claim made by the Russian foreign minister on Sunday that the speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, stated that Russia handed over Nagorno-Karabakh is completely untrue. The NA speaker's spokesman, Tsovinar Khachatryan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am about this, referring to the statement by Russian FM Sergey Lavrov.

"Staying true to the [trilateral] statement of November 9, [2020] the head of the Armenian NA is full of hope that Russia will nevertheless manage to restore the uninterrupted operation of the Lachin corridor, which has been closed [by Azerbaijan] for 273 days [now], will be able to ensure the return of [Armenian] prisoners of war and other [Armenian] detainees who have been there for three years, as well as as a guarantor, will pursue the full implementation of all points of the November 9 statement," Khachatryan added.
