YEREVAN.- U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern presented credentials on Monday to President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

President Sargsyan congratulated Ambassador Heffern on his appointment expressing hope that his diplomatic experience will contribute to further expansion of relations between the two states.

The Armenian leader stressed that relations with U.S. are contributing to Armenia’s economic development, democracy strengthening and regional stability, presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

“We are grateful to U.S. for balanced position on the issues which are of major importance for Armenia. I would like to express gratitude to former Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch for her work,” Sargsyan said.

In his turn, the Ambassador stressed importance of deepening and developing relations with Armenia.

President Barack Obama highly appreciates Armenia’s determined stance in solving regional issues and U.S. has an intention to continue work in this direction, Heffern added.
