YEREVAN. - I consider the dead soldiers in Armenian army to be my children, Herritage party leader Raffi Hovhannisian announced in Yerevan during a meeting with the people.
“I am concerned about the current situation in our army, about the soldier deaths in peaceful conditions. Our army can conquer the nationwide peak of values. We are proud of our soldiers, our officers and army leaders, commanders. But there is no reason to give such losses in peaceful situation. I do not care if it is the president, the PM, or opposition leader but each one of them must feel the shock. How can the winner army tolerate soldier deaths after the 20th anniversary of the Armenian independence? Who is responsible for this situation? I will say I am [responsible] but in first place the president and the government must take responsibility,” Hovhannisian said.
