YEREVAN. – Head of the Forum of Armenian Unions of Europe Ashot Grigoryan wrote UEFA president Michel Platini asking to analyze mistakes by referees of Armenia-Ireland Euro 2012 qualifying match and appoint a replay.

“Euro 2012 Armenia-Ireland qualifying match referee Iturralde Gonzalez made serious mistakes during the October 11 match played in Dublin. These mistakes influenced results of the match and left deep negative impression on the Armenians around the world,” the letter reads.

In a letter Grigoryan asked to assess work of the referees and take corresponding measures to punish them and appoint replay of the match.

Spanish referee Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez red-carded Berezovsky during the Euro 2012 qualifier when the keeper stepped out of the penalty area. Some experts say Berezovsky’s sending-off was unfair.
