Reports indicate that a street in the Azerbaijani-occupied city of Stepanakert in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) has been named "in honor of Enver Pasha," one of the architects of the Armenian Genocide.

The renaming of streets in Stepanakert has sparked discussions on social media, with various proposed names, including a suggestion by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, Vladislav Kanevsky, to name a street after Taras Shevchenko, who was Ukrainian poet, writer, artist, public and political figure.

The Turkish news resource TRT Haber reported that one of the streets has already been named “in honor of Enver Pasha.” This person was one of the architects of the Armenian Genocide.

The State Service for Property Affairs under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, as well as the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, claim to have no knowledge of the renaming and suggest that it might be an independent initiative.
