World Weightlifting Paralympics was held in the United Arab Emirates, from October 13 to 20, in which Armenia was represented by Greta Vardanyan, from Gyumri city, and Samvel Asatryan, from Voskevaz village. Vardanyan, 25, who is a silver medalist from 2007 European Open Championship held in Greece, repeated her performance and captured second place at the Paralympics.
Armenian athletes’ participation in the event was funded at PM’s request and sponsored by Clean Land Company.
