President Biden‘s administration is urging Israel to reconsider its plans for a large-scale ground offensive in Gaza and instead consider a "surgical" operation utilizing airpower and special forces to target specific important installations and infrastructure of Hamas.

According to The WP, this was reported by five American officials familiar with the discussions.
