Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Peter Lerner denied that the expanded operations constitute an official ground invasion of the Gaza Strip, ABC News reports.
Lerner reiterated that the IDF is doing everything possible to avoid civilian casualties.
According to him, this is a war that Hamas “started.”
