YEREVAN. – The quake that occurred in Turkey on October 23 could have an effect on Armenia, seismologist Vladimir Balasanyan stated during a press conference on Tuesday. 

“The tremor could affect Armenia perhaps in twenty, fifty years, but it could also not affect at all,” the seismologist noted. He also informed that the earthquake in Turkey and the recent tremor in Armenia are not in one landfall area, but they are interlinked and they affect one another.

Sunday’s tremor in Turkey was felt in Georgia, Iran, and also in Armenia, where its magnitude ranged between 3 and 5.
