YEREVAN. – Karen Karapetyan, Mayor of Armenia’s capital Yerevan, confirmed the news about his resignation. In an exclusive interview with Armnews News Agency, Karapetyan said he will start a new job, adding he is resigning for personal reasons.
Karen Karapetyan has submitted his resignation and will soon move to Russia, where he is expected to assume a senior position at Gazprom Company.
Yerevan’s Deputy Mayor Taron Margaryan will replace Karapetyan as Mayor.
