YEREVAN. – Oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) launched on Friday regular rally, which is the first after one week non-stop rally at the end of September.
The rally opened Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Times) editor Nikol Pashinyan and offered to respect memory of victims of October 27, 1999 [Parliament Speaker Karen Demirchyan, PM Vazgen Sargsyan and several MPs vere killed during the terrorism attack at the parliament]. ANC members are going to deliver speeches. ANC leader, Armenian first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan will traditionally speak at the end of the rally.
“Hunanyan’s gang [terrorists who attacked Armenian parliament in 1999], implementing the terrorism, is in jail, while its organizers are still keeping the nation, the parliament and president’s residence as hostage,” Pashinyan stated and added that it was the same power that organized March 1, 2008 kinnings in Yerevan streets, when ten people died during clashes between protesters and the law enforcements agents.
