YEREVAN. – Yerevan State University (YSU) on Friday launched “YSU against cigarette and drugs” project.

Armenian Youth Foundation director Aleksander Ter-Hovakimyan stressed importance of projects directed to the healthy way of living as they contribute to the formation of healthy society, Foundation informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to YSU chancellor Aram Simonyan, smoking is an egoistic and anti-human action, as it not only harms the consumer but also the environment.

“Smoking proves human’s weakness and dependence. It is completely anti-human. Smokers are mistaken that they are progressive, modern, and have the right of speaking equal to clever, reasonable people. The only way of being equal is personal capability, work of mind, strong character, will and consciousness. Cigarette never makes someone beautiful. I call upon smokers to stop it, and non-smokers never to start. As the first attractive moment is followed by sleepless nights and illnesses,” the chancellor stated.
