YEREVAN. – Armenian Lori Region heads the list of regions with most road accidents in Armenia, as it is full of interstate roads and lacks traffic signs. Over 40% of those accidents end fatally, while majority of them cause injuries. Besides car crashes, people are often run over in the region as well.

Run over may be of two types on obstacle and on pedestrian, police officer Vardan Nargizyan explained Armenian News-NEWS.am. According to the first type, there were 15 incidents, where 3 people died, while 20 were injured. The second type occurs not because of the pedestrian but inattentiveness of a driver. Incidents are less for this type, about 12. As a result, two people died, 13 were injured.

In general, index is higher compared to last year, except death index.
