KOCAELI. - At the end of Saturday morning’s Round 7 at World Youth Under 16 Chess Olympiad, which is being held in Kocaeli, Turkey, Armenia’s national team played a draw against Iran, and thus it gave up its leader’s standing to Russia, which defeated India.
The Russians now lead the current standings, with 20 points, and the Armenians are close behind, with 19.5 points. In Round 8 this evening, the young Armenian chess players will face England.
