At least 14 people have been killed as a result of shelling of Belgorod by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 108 people were injured, Russia's Emergencies Ministry said.
The strikes in the Belgorod region have continued since Friday evening.
Hits were recorded in the residential sector, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
A missile danger siren sounded in the city, residents were asked to go down to shelters. By now the signal has been canceled.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry has recorded 10 cases of fire, now all of them have been extinguished.
About 40 civilian objects, according to preliminary data, have been damaged in the center of Belgorod, emergency services told TASS.
A hotline has been launched in Belgorod with the number 122. Information on casualties and damage is being received on it.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has been reported about the AFU strike on Belgorod, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. On Putin's instructions, a Health Ministry team headed by Minister Mikhail Murashko flew to Belgorod.
