YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Attorney General Aghvan Hovsepyan on Wednesday received U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern.

Hovsepyan welcomed the guest, congratulated on the appointment and wished good luck on carrying out the mission, Attorney General’s press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Hovsepyan praised high the level of Armenian-American cooperation in the struggle against crimes and expressed hope that the newly appointed Ambassador may cooperate in deepening and developing relations. He also touched upon the capability development of Armenian judicial-legal bodies, as well as projects for professional advancement of the employees. According to Hovsepyan, the cooperation registered visible progress, particularly in the struggle against transnational crimes.

The Ambassador stressed the importance of cooperating with the Attorney General, praising its role in the implementation of criminal policy and struggle against crimes. The sides discussed perspectives of cooperation development and stated the necessity of establishing a sound legal base, which will clarify mechanisms of cooperation between legal bodies of the two states.
