Despite the difficult situation in the region, Georgia advocates and implements a balanced policy aimed at achieving stability and long-term peace. This was stated by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, at the joint meeting of the parliamentary committees on European integration and foreign affairs, Georgia Online reported.

Darchiashvili noted that Georgia has repeatedly contributed to effective communication between neighboring Armenia and Azerbaijan by implementing the Peaceful Neighborhood Initiative.

"We are ready to continue our participation in this regard—in accordance with the demands of our neighboring countries. We want [the Georgian capital of] Tbilisi to be a place—in the future—for our neighbors, where they will be able to discuss any urgent matter that will contribute to the restoration of trust between the parties," said the acting FM of Georgia.
