YEREVAN. – EU will accept new states with difficulty, as Europe has already understood the mistake to make concessions to states, like Greece, Lithuanian Lietuvos Rytas newspaper analyst Eldoradas Butrimas told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Butrimas said that there are positive and negative sides being involved in EU.

“On the one hand Lithuania had to solve its inner issues, like corruption. On the other, European banks are running the industry in the state,” he added.

Regarding the possible exclusion of Greece from EU, Lithuanian journalist said that Greece should be punished. Brussels should learn from the hard economic situation and select EU candidates more carefully.

The meeting with Lithuanian journalist was held within the framework of the 18th International Exhibition of Press and News Agencies held in Tehran.
