YEREVAN. - Leader of opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), first President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan met with U.S. Ambassador in Armenia John Heffern.
Ter-Petrosyan presented ANC's approaches towards domestic policy of Armenia, emphasizing the overall corruption, lack of democratic freedoms, rigged elections, restrictions on media and consequently the serious challenge facing Armenia – large scales of emigration.
As a possible solution of these problems, Levon Ter-Petrosyan stressed the need to ensure fair elections and formation of legitimate power, informs ANC.
ANC leader also presented his position on the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
