YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday received Iran’s FM, Ali Akbar Salehi. 

Sargsyan considered the mutual visits between the senior Armenian and Iranian officials to be a good opportunity, in terms of the current collaboration between both countries, implementation of the arrangements reached with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and outlining new projects, Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.                   

“I am glad to record that Armenian-Iranian relations are on a high level today. The number of joint projects is increasing, [and] cultural exchanges are becoming more active,” Serzh Sargsyan said, also expressing a satisfaction with the development of economic cooperation. 

“Rest assured that Iran, as a friendly country, will always be determined and devoted to developing relations with Armenia,” Ali Akbar Salehi stated, in his turn.  

Within the framework of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s scheduled visit to Armenia, the interlocutors also reflected on cooperation projects in energy, transportation, communication, tourism, and in several other domains.
