YEREVAN. - Armenian Minister of Transportation and Communication Manuk Vardanyan on Tuesday received U.S. newly appointed Ambassador John Heffern.

Vardanyan presented the Ambassador Ministry’s main spheres of activity, Ministry’s press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Minister stressed the importance of implementation of the regional projects, including construction of North-South highway, reconstructions of two highways connecting Armenia with Georgia, as well as the project of the railroad, connecting the capital with the airport, and the construction of new highway and new logistic center.

The Ambassador thanked the Minister for warm reception and ensured that the bilateral cooperation will develop in future. Heffern said that he will try to find American companies assisting in the realization of the projects.

Heffern was also interested in the current technical condition of the railways on the borders, IT sphere, and digitalization process of TV channels in Armenia.
