YEREVAN. - Japanese film festival opened in Yerevan on Tuesday. The festival was opened with the Aiki movie.

Japanese ambassador in Armenia Tikahito Harada (residence in Moscow) and other guests were present during the opening ceremony which took place in Yerevan’s Moscow movie theater.

From the moment Armenia got independence the relations got deeper and stronger, Armenia’s deputy FM Sergey Manasaryan stressed at the event. According to him, during the last years the relations have entered a new phase, in particular Armenia’s FM visited Japan, Armenian Embassy was opened in Japan, and Japan’s deputy FM visited Armenia. Next year the 20th anniversary of establishment of relations will take place.

In Yerevan the festival will take place during November 8-10. In November 11-12 it will take place in Gyumri’s Hoktember movie theater.

The Armenian audience will have an opportunity to watch five movies: Aiki, Strike with Head, First Love, What does Snow Bring, Flame. The festival was organized by the Hikari center in cooperation with Japan’s Embassy in Armenia (residence in Moscow).

Today in the framework of the festival a Japanese print exhibition took place in Armenia’s National Gallery. The Japanese side donated a special wood carving equipment for the event.
