VILNIUS. – Armenia’s newly appointed Ambassador to Lithuania, Ara Ayvazyan, on Tuesday presented his credentials to Lithuanian President, Dalia Grybauskaite.

The President congratulated the new Ambassador and expressed a hope that Ayvazyan would contribute to the strengthening of relations and the close cooperation between Armenia and Lithuania, Press Service of the Lithuanian Head of State informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Ara Ayvazyan is Armenia’s first Ambassador to Lithuania whose diplomatic residence is in that country.                       

In his turn, the Armenian diplomat noted that Armenia is interested in Lithuania’s integration track-record and anticipates close cooperation in this domain. President Grybauskaite promised to share her country’s record in this area and contribute to Armenia’s efforts toward approaching the EU.   

Diplomatic relations between Armenia and Lithuania were established on November 21, 1991, and Ara Ayvazyan is Armenia’s third Ambassador appointed to Lithuania.
