US President Joe Biden has sent a congratulatory message to his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, in which he expressed the US commitment to achieving "lasting and honourable" peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"On behalf of the people of the United States of America, I send my best wishes to you and the people of Azerbaijan, wishing you a peaceful, prosperous and joyous Novruz holiday.

As we mark a period of renewal and reflection, the United States of America reaffirms its continued commitment to the partnership between our countries and to achieving a lasting and dignified peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia that will promote security in the region for generations to come. 

During this year, I wish to work with you to advance regional ties and expand economic development," Azerbaijani media reported the text of Biden's congratulatory message.
