A man barricaded himself with hostages in a house in Trenton Township in the US state of New Jersey after shooting at least three people in Levittown, Pennsylvania, on Saturday morning, CBS reported, citing police.
SWAT teams surrounded the home where 26-year-old Andre Gordon was believed to be hiding. It was unclear how many hostages were in the home.
After the shooting Saturday morning local time, Falls Township residents received emergency notices to take cover, but by noon those orders were canceled as the investigation moved across the Delaware River to Trenton.
Police sources described the shootings as domestic relations incidents. The Bucks County District Attorney's Office said the shootings occurred at two different locations.
Officials said that after the shooting, Gordon stole someone's car from a department store in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, and fled in a grey or silver Honda vehicle.
Middletown Township Police said the vehicle used by the suspect is located in Trenton.
