YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday met with the Foreign Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Store.

Sargsyan took the opportunity to thank Norwegian official and expressed the gratitude of Armenian people to Norway.

“We have heard many words of gratitude to Fridtjof Nansen. I also have to say the name of Mrs. Bodil Katharine Bjorn. These are individuals who helped many Armenian people to mitigate their sorrow and grief after Armenian Genocide early in 20th Century, giving them the opportunity to build their future. I would also like to thank the Government of Norway for the promotion of technical and development programs, undertaken since 1988," said Sargsyan.

Norwegian Foreign Minister personally and on the behalf of his people thanked the Armenian President for the kind words about his country and its citizens, as well as for the sincere attitude, the one manifestation of which is the monument to Fridtjof Nansen in central Yerevan area.

"Despite our modest economic relations, I should say that we managed to deepen political relations and this is a very important start," said the FM.
