MOSCOW. - The OSCE Misnk Group Co-Chairs on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement will visit the region in late November, representative of Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich told on Thursday.
He said that the mediators plan to hold meetings with Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Lukashevich recalled that the Co-Chairs presented on November 3 an annual report about their activities ahead of forthcoming OSCE Ministerial meeting scheduled for early December in Vilnius.
According to him, summing up their mediatory efforts aimed at long-term resolution of the Karabakh conflict, the Co-Chairs noted they had paid eight visits to the region this year and had held 14 separate meetings with Armenian leader Serzh Sargsyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
In their report the mediators stressed that the conflict has no military solution and the political will of both sides is needed to overcome unacceptable status quo and achieve peace, Lukashevich said. The Co-Chairs also informed of additional measures aimed to improve climate of talks, strengthen ceasefire regime and form mutual understanding between the people of the region.
The OSCE Minsk Group on Karabakh conflict resolution is co-chaired by Russia, France and United States.
