YEREVAN. – Ever since the failure of its “Zero Problems with Neighbors” Policy, Turkey has become vulnerable, turkologist Andranik Ispiryan stated, during a press conference on Saturday, reflecting on Turkey’s likely reaction should the West launch a strike against Iran.

Ispiryan noted that Turkey’s several current problems, including the Kurdish issue, enable the West to dictate terms upon Turkey. “It became apparent that US sent four Predator-type unmanned reconnaissance drones to Turkey. It is noted that Turkey had required them to use in its fight against the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party). But the drones’ command and data gathering are under US disposal. Turkey is concerned these devices could be used against Iran,” the turkologist noted, stressing that in the event of military operations against Iran by the West, Turkey would indirectly become a conflicting party.         

As per Andranik Ispiryan, the press has already published information that if it is attacked against, Iran would strike at Turkey, too. “In addition, it has become apparent that the FBI has revealed a conspiracy, whereby Iran’s senior military officials had planned to carry out political murders also in Turkey and Azerbaijan,” Ispiryan said.
