YEREVAN. – Although there are cases of cattle disease in Katnarat village in Armenia’s Tavush Region, no fall is registered, Armenian deputy Minister of Agriculture Grisha Baghiyan told the journalists on Tuesday.

Armenian media on Monday spread reports that one animal died, while six others had to be slaughtered in Katnarat village. Moreover, farmers tried to sell it to the sausage making factories.

Baghiyan stated that seven animals are sick and are kept separate, under control. It is still unknown what the disease is, as laboratory results are still unavailable. According to farmers, it is rabies. However, Baghiyan said that previously three animals were slaughtered as treatment would have been more expensive.
