YEREVAN. - Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan received the European Union’s High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton today. Serzh Sargsyan welcomed Catherine Ashton and stressed the importance of continuous deepening and strengthening of the relations between Armenia and the EU.

“Our aim is very clear and we have declared about it several times we see Armenia’s future as a country created by European standards,” Serzh Sargsyan said.

Catherine Ashton stressed the importance of the deepening Armenia-EU relations.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the reforms taking place in Armenia considering them as a part of the cooperation with the EU.

They also discussed regional issues.
