Analysis of photos taken by interplanetary Galileo station in 1989 and their comparison with glaciers on Earth, particularly with those in Greenland, inspires hopes to find warmer water – source of life – underneath the glaciers of Europe. This, however, is a hypothesis, requiring additional proof and research.

American scientists already develop projects that would avail flights to Europe or other satellites of Jupiter by the end of current or beginning of next decade.
