YEREVAN. – Armenian oppositional parliamentary Heritage party offered a bill on lustration. It aims to exclude those officials who had connection with foreign secret services before September 21, 1991, head of Heritage group, MP Stepan Safaryan said at a press conference on Thursday.

According to the MP, lustration in particular includes head of the state, representatives of his administrative staff, MPs, people working at judicial system, government representatives. In general, it should include all those who make decisions in the state.

Safaryan said that a special committee should establish the connection of the officials with foreign secret services. He believes that those officials, who worked with the secret services, may resign willingly. Otherwise the corresponding committee should make public their data and turn to corresponding bodies, which are authorized to dismiss the official, oppositional MP said and added that such officials have no right to hold a state office or claim it.

The issue is important to ensure national security of the state and serve for the further development.
